From Surah 96 - Al-Alaq Ayah 1 : The first word which was revealed to Rasool Mohamed (Sallalahu Alaihi Wa-Sallalam) was to 'Read or Recite or Rehearse or Proclaim' in the name of Allah.
We all know that if a human being wants to know about anything he must first learn about it (Acquire Knowledge i.e. ilm) and only after acquiring knowledge (ilm) which also means to understand it and follow it up by implementing it. Allaah Subhanahu Tahla has gave the same command first to our beloved Rasool and Nabi Mohamed (Sallalahu Alaihi Wa-Sallalam) to acquire knowledge and becuase of this he was able to successfully deliver the complete message of The Glorious Qur'aan to us. My observation to ALL our Muslim brothers and sister is that we even don't do the very basic thing that will give us the knowledge, which is to IQRA?
